Centre for Environment and Construction Mechanics
Functions
The Centre for Environment and Construction Mechanics is responsible for research and implementation of tasks in the fields of Equipment, Construction Mechanics, Technical Infrastructure, Construction Environment and Occupational Safety, serving state management and the development of the construction industry and building materials production.
Tasks
- Developing research orientations and organising the implementation of science and technology research tasks in the fields of Equipment, Construction Mechanics, Technical Infrastructure, Construction Environment and Occupational Safety, including:
- Research and design of production technology equipment, research equipment and testing equipment for building materials;
- Research on technological solutions and design of environmental protection equipment for the building materials industry, other industrial facilities and civil buildings, covering air pollution, source water pollution, industrial wastewater and domestic wastewater treatment;
- Research and proposal of equipment, organisational, policy, management and technical solutions to ensure occupational safety and reduce accidents in building materials production;
- Research and proposal of standards, technical regulations, policy, management and technical solutions in the fields of Equipment, Construction Mechanics, Technical Infrastructure, Construction Environment, Occupational Safety and Energy Efficiency in buildings and production facilities;
- Research on the application of materials and technologies in water supply, drainage and water treatment.
- Managing and efficiently operating the Environment, Safety, Energy Efficiency and Technical Infrastructure laboratories;
- Providing environmental consulting services (strategic environmental assessment reports, environmental impact assessments, discharge reports, monitoring, measurement and environmental quality surveillance, etc.);
- Research and technology transfer for:
- Treatment of gaseous, liquid and solid waste pollution;
- Recycling of industrial and municipal waste;
- Production of building materials and other industrial products;
- Cleaner production in building materials manufacturing, other industries and craft villages;
- Ensuring occupational safety and reducing accidents in building materials production;
- Manufacturing, supplying and installing environmental protection and treatment equipment and systems, recycling equipment, building materials production equipment, and testing equipment for the environment and building materials production.
- Cooperating with specialised research units within the Institute on tasks in the fields of Equipment, Environment, Occupational Safety, Technical Infrastructure, Construction Mechanics and Energy Efficiency.
- Participating in domestic and international cooperation programmes on scientific research, consulting, training and technology transfer in the fields of Equipment, Environment, Occupational Safety, Technical Infrastructure, Construction Mechanics and Energy Efficiency, as assigned and directed by the Director of the Institute.
- Managing and organising human resources; implementing policies for staff in accordance with the Institute’s delegation of authority.
- Performing other tasks assigned by the Director of the Institute.
The Centre for Environment and Construction Mechanics has carried out many ministerial- and sector-level research topics and projects in environmental treatment and waste recycling. Many research results have been transferred into production with high socio-economic benefits.
With many years of experience, the Centre has the capacity to address science and technology tasks and practical needs in the environment, mechanical equipment and occupational safety for the building materials industry and other industries.
Main Activities
