VIBM: Environmental Quality Testing Laboratory – VIMCERTS 315
Under the regulations of the state management authorities, when preparing environmental reports, enterprises must engage an environmental monitoring service provider holding a Certificate of Eligibility for Environmental Monitoring Services; only then are the results of field monitoring and environmental analysis officially recognised.
The Vietnam Institute for Building Materials (VIBM) has been granted by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment the Certificate of Eligibility for Environmental Monitoring Services, registration code VIMCERTS 315, No. 36/GCN-BTNMT issued on 19 October 2022.
VIMCERTS 315 provides the following services:
- Environmental monitoring;
- Analysis and certification of solid waste and hazardous waste;
- Preparation of environmental permit applications;
- Consulting on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports and environmental status reports;
- Consulting on and transfer of technologies for treating solid waste, wastewater and exhaust gas;
- Research on the use of waste as building materials.
VIBM has also been granted by the Health Environment Management Agency – Ministry of Health the Certificate of Eligibility for Occupational Environment Monitoring under licence No. 499/MT-LĐ dated 16 September 2022.
Together with a modern laboratory system accredited to TCVN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 – VILAS 003 by the Ministry of Science and Technology, VIBM has the capability and facilities to provide field monitoring, environmental quality analysis, environmental permit applications, environmental quality monitoring reports, and research on waste treatment and utilisation.

The Centre for Environment and Construction Mechanics, a unit of the Vietnam Institute for Building Materials, directly performs field monitoring and environmental analysis under VIMCERTS 315. With professionally trained and experienced staff, the Centre works closely with government agencies, enterprises and domestic and international environmental organisations in environmental protection and pollution reduction.
